RURAL SOCIAL NETWORK STARTUP KRISHIFY CLOSES $6.2M IN PRE-SERIES A ROUND
















On wednesday, Krishify, a rural social network announced its closing of $6.2 million with the additional participation of agritech VC fund Omnivore, in Pre-Series A round, alongside the existing investors that are Ankur Capital, Ankur Capital, Omidyar Network India, and Orios


Venture Partners. In August 2021, Krishify raised $ 2.7 million and recently, with an additional $ 3.5 million in funding, closed the Pre-Series A round.

Krishify has over 6.5 million downloads and has over 1.3 million monthly active users. It has become India’s largest social network for farmers and rural communities. The app offers awesome personalized experiences to agriverse participants like leveraging machine learning, AI, and natural language processing.

The startup is planning to use this round for fast-tracking pan-India growth and to further improve the technology for a better user experience for the users in agriverse.

Krishify was founded in 2019 by Rajesh Ranjan, Manish Agrawal, and Avinash Kumar, alumnus of IIT. the startup have also been accelerating monetization on the network through advertising through targeting rural consumers.

We recently met a third-generation guava farmer in Rajasthan who was selling record numbers of guava saplings to farmers across Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra who only could have ever discovered him through the Krishify app” said Rajesh Ranjan while commenting on the investment.

Mark Khan, Managing Partner at Omnivore further added “Rising smartphone penetration in rural India has created an opportunity to build a farmer-centric social network for India’s 130 million cultivators and their families, a total population of over 600 million. Krishify is building a content-centric agriverse to help farmers and rural communities realize greater success and joy through peer-to-peer engagement”.
