PV Sindhu Invests and Becomes the New Ambassador for D2C Wellness Brand Hoop

"I love how Hoop positions pain relief and muscle recovery as ways to self-care rather than something to be afraid of. I am excited to introduce Hoop products not just to athletes but to everyone trying to be active"

Olympian PV Sindhu invests in the D2C wellness brand “Hoop”. The company has also shared the news of PV Sindhu becoming Hoop's new brand ambassador.

In 2022, Twinkle Uppal and Saharsh Agarwal, former McKinsey consultants, started a company that sells sprays and roll-ons for pain relief, muscle recovery, and sleep support. They sell these products on their website and e-commerce sites such as Amazon and Flipkart.

The startup, Hoop, was selected by Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia India and Southeast Asia) for their Sequoia Spark fellowship program's second group. In January 2023, they received a $100K grant without giving up any equity, along with guidance and support from mentors.

In addition, Hoop has support from prominent angel investors including Abhinav Sinha, COO of OYO; Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy's food marketplace; Suhail Sameer, former CEO of BharatPe; Shantanu Deshpande, founder of Bombay Shaving Company; and Arjun Vaidya, founder of Dr Vaidya's.

Sindhu also expressed her views on her investment in the company, “Pain is a part of my daily life but I don’t see it as a bad thing. I love how Hoop positions pain relief and muscle recovery as ways to self-care rather than something to be afraid of. I am excited to introduce Hoop products not just to athletes but to everyone trying to be active.” - she said.
