Nazara acquires London-based Fusebox Games in an all-cash transaction

Nazara Technologies, a gaming and esports company based in Mumbai, has bought London-based gaming studio Fusebox Games for Rs 228 crore (around $27.2 million) in an all-cash deal. This acquisition is part of Nazara's strategy to expand its presence in the gaming and esports sector, especially in the U.S.

In addition to this purchase, Nazara's subsidiary Absolute Sports has acquired all assets of DeltiasGaming.com, and another subsidiary, Nextwave Multimedia, has acquired the casual card game Ultimate Teen Patti (UTP).

Fusebox Games is known for its mobile games, particularly interactive story games like the popular ‘Love Island’. The studio focuses on creating games based on well-known TV shows and mainly earns revenue through in-app purchases, which make up about 92% of their income as of mid-2024.

Fusebox targets developed markets such as the U.S., U.K., Australia, Canada, and several European countries. The company has 30 employees based mostly in the U.K.

Nitish Mittersain, the Founder and CEO of Nazara Technologies, mentioned that there is a significant opportunity to grow a global gaming business using their base in India.

They plan to support global studios with better user acquisition strategies, data analytics, and new initiatives like their in-house AI tools. Mittersain is excited about joining forces with Fusebox and believes it will help Nazara grow into a major global gaming company.
