Blinkit, owned by Zomato known for its rapid delivery of groceries and other items within 10-15 minutes, has now added passport photo delivery to its services.
CEO Albinder Dhindsa announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the company has launched a 10-minute passport photo delivery service for customers in Delhi and Gurugram.
In his post, Dhindsa highlighted the convenience of the new service for urgent needs such as visa applications, admit cards, or rental agreements, stating, "Starting today, Blinkit customers in Delhi and Gurugram can receive passport photos delivered in just 10 minutes!" He also added that the service will eventually be extended to other cities across India.
Here’s how it works: Users can either upload an existing photo or take a new one with their phone. Blinkit’s system will then automatically remove the background and resize the image to meet the required specifications. Customers can select from options of 8, 16, or 32 prints, which will be delivered in a neatly packaged envelope.
People are reacting positively to Blinkit's new service. One person said, "Blinkit is a lifesaver in Gurgaon. I can't picture my day without it."
Another person wondered if the service would work for visa photos, and someone replied that some visas need special photo requirements, like biometric ones. A third user said, "We can't imagine life in Noida/Gurgaon without Blinkit. Thanks for this!"
A fourth user asked why the service isn't available in Bangalore and if the photo dimensions would vary for different visas, but still thought it was a great idea.
