Fresh Bus, the all electric intercity bus startup raises Rs 87.5 crore.




Fresh bus is a Bengaluru- based all- electric intercity bus startup, and has raised funding of Rs.87.5 crore (around $10.5 Mn)  in a Series A Funding round. 


The secured $10 million in funding is to expand Fresh Bus’s operations. The investment round was led by Maniv, a global venture capital fund specializing in transportation, with contributions from Shell Ventures, Alteria Capital, and existing investor Riverwalk Holdings.


The company plans to use the funds to add 15 new routes and deploy 150 more electric buses. They also aim to improve their technology and strengthen their team.


Notable investors backing Fresh Bus include Kunal Shah, founder of CRED; Sudarshan Venu, MD of TVS Motors; and Deepak Garg, CEO of Rivigo.


Founder and CEO Sudhakar Chirra hopes to grow Fresh Bus to 1,000 electric buses across India in the next four years. He also plans to create thousands of skilled jobs and provide a greener option for public transportation.


Currently, Fresh Bus operates 20 electric buses on routes like Bengaluru-Tirupati and Hyderabad-Vijayawada. They offer a digital-first experience with online ticketing, real-time bus tracking, and a loyalty program.
