Flipkart, which is owned by Walmart, has launched two new fulfillment centers in Uttar Pradesh

Walmart-owned Flipkart has opened two new fulfillment centers in Uttar Pradesh. These centers include a grocery fulfillment center in Varanasi and a sortation center in Unnao, together covering more than 500,000 square feet.

The opening was celebrated with a virtual ceremony led by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. These new centers are expected to boost Flipkart’s efficiency in the region, speeding up delivery times and benefiting the local economy.

The new facilities will create over 3,600 jobs, both directly and indirectly, and will offer a wide range of products, from local items to well-known brands. Chief Minister Adityanath praised Flipkart’s investment, noting that it supports local small businesses and enhances the state's reputation as a growing industrial hub.

Rajneesh Kumar from Flipkart highlighted that the company’s investment helps local businesses and communities, supports farmers, and aids in their digital growth. He stressed that the new centers are part of Flipkart’s plan to improve delivery speed and meet customer needs.

Overall, Flipkart has built a substantial network in Uttar Pradesh, including grocery fulfillment centers and last-mile delivery hubs, covering over 1.5 million square feet.

The company has also supported local small and medium businesses through initiatives like the One District One Product program, which has generated over ₹1,600 crore in sales. Additionally, Flipkart’s Grocery service now reaches over 1,800 cities and 10,000 PIN codes, addressing the increasing demand for online shopping in India.
