Charanjit Attra resigns as group chief operating officer of Jio Financial Services


Attra's resignation from Jio Financial Services (JFS) is part of ongoing changes in the company's leadership aimed at strengthening the management team.

Charanjit Attra, the Group Chief Operating Officer at Jio Financial Services, has resigned because he has been appointed as the Managing Director and CEO of Jio Leasing Services Ltd., a subsidiary of Jio Financial Services.


His resignation took effect at the end of the business day on July 8, 2024, and he will start his new role on July 9. Attra joined Jio Financial Services as COO in July of last year. Before that, he was the Chief Financial Officer at the State Bank of India, the largest public-sector bank.


Charanjit Attra became the Chief Financial Officer of SBI in October 2020 and resigned after serving for two years and eight months, with his tenure ending on June 30, 2023.


Attra's resignation from Jio Financial Services (JFS) is part of ongoing changes in the company's leadership aimed at strengthening the management team. His departure is notable due to his vast experience and the impact he had on JFS and the financial sector. JFS remains committed to offering innovative and affordable financial products by leveraging Reliance's digital-first strategy.


Before joining SBI, he was a partner at EY India and held senior roles at ICICI Securities. He also worked as a partner at SR Batliboi & Associates LLP and was the General Manager and chief accountant at ICICI Bank.
